aaron arnett is a managing director on bow river capital’s private credit team and member of the credit investment committee. aaron is responsible for originating, structuring and leading private credit investments across the capital structure, as well as portfolio construction.
aaron has more than 15 years of experience in private credit and equity investing, portfolio management and credit underwriting. aaron has extensive experience originating, underwriting, negotiating, and managing private credit investments with a focus on private equity sponsor-backed companies in the middle market. he has invested in companies across a wide variety of industries, including healthcare, business services, consumer products, food & beverage, niche manufacturing, and diversified industrials.
prior to joining bow river, aaron was a principal of yukon partners, a $1.8b aum junior capital investment firm. prior to that, aaron was vice president of pohlad companies, a multibillion-dollar family office where he served on the investment team. aaron started his career as an investment banking analyst in piper sandler’s debt capital markets and capital advisory group.
aaron holds a bs in accounting, a bs in finance, and a master of accounting from the university of kansas.
Director, Private Credit
josh apfel is a director on bow river’s private credit team. in this role, josh is responsible for fundraising, originating, and managing all stages of the credit investment process from transaction through portfolio management and exit.
prior to joining bow river, josh was a vice president at strategic value partners, llc on the business development and investor relations team. during his time at strategic value partners, he acted as the firm’s portfolio expert and product expert, oversaw key portions of fundraising efforts and marketing logistics, including running high net worth platform raises, and developed and managed relationships with institutional investors. before strategic value partners, josh was an associate in the restructuring department at weil, gotshal & manges llp, where he focused on complex, mid-sized and multi-billion dollar in-court and out-of-court restructurings.
josh received his j.d. from nyu school of law and his m.s. in accounting from the university of florida. he was admitted to practice law in new york and passed the certified public accountant examination in south carolina.
Senior Associate, Private Credit
daniel parks is a senior associate on bow river capital’s private credit team. in this role, daniel is responsible for investment research, due diligence, financial modeling, and transaction management.
prior to joining bow river capital, daniel was an associate director at capital solutions where he was responsible for market and valuation analysis, due diligence, thesis generation, term sheet creation and negotiations and deal closing activities. prior to that, daniel was an analyst at global high yield where he supported nine portfolio managers with due diligence and the presentation of investment committee memos and recommendations.
daniel graduated from the university of north carolina with a b.s. in business administration.
Managing Director, Evergreen Platform
jeremy held, cfa, is responsible for bow river capital’s registered asset management business including investment oversight, research and product development.
prior to joining bow river capital in 2019, jeremy was the director of research and chief investment officer (cio) at alps advisors, a denver-based asset manager that specializes in registered fund vehicles focused on real assets and alternative investments. jeremy began his career at alps in 1996 and helped lead a variety of business initiatives over two decades, including the launch of the firm’s asset management business in 2007. as cio, jeremy was responsible for manager selection and oversight and was ultimately responsible for all aspects of the alps advisors business, overseeing 44 registered investment companies and more than $20 billion in assets.
jeremy graduated from the university of colorado with a degree in international business. he is a cfa® charter holder and a member of the cfa society of denver.
jeremy is on the board of principal real estate income fund and habitat for humanity of metro denver.

Credit Investment Committee Advisor
jonathan desimone serves as a non-voting member of the private credit investment committee. he brings more than 30 years of capital markets, fund strategy and investing experience.
most recently, mr. desimone served as chief executive officer of alcentra, a global asset management firm, specializing in corporate credit and private debt. while at alcentra, he oversaw all aspects of the firm's business and investment activities, leading a team of 200 people stewarding $40 billion in investor capital across all segments of credit, including private credit, special situations, structured credit, liquid credit and clos. he also chaired alcentra's executive management committee, sat on various alcentra operational and investment committees, and served as the firm's interim cio, private credit, managing $10 billion in european direct lending funds and chairing alcentra's private credit investment committee. from 2009 to 2019, mr. desimone worked at bain capital credit, most recently serving as managing director, head of liquid credit and portfolio manager, liquid credit, where he played a leading role in asset allocation and credit decisions for bain capital credit's liquid credit platform.
previously, mr. desimone was with bain & company from 1992 to 2002, most recently as a manager in the private equity practice, where he supported private equity and corporate clients on mergers & acquisition and post-acquisition support.
mr. desimone received his mba from the amos tuck school at dartmouth college, and his b.a. in economics from georgetown university.
