Food for Love Benefit Concert Announces Matching Sponsorship from Thornburg Investment Management & Thornburg Foundation
Food for Love benefit concert is pleased to welcome Thornburg Investment Management and Thornburg Foundation as sponsors to raise money for New Mexico food banks.
SANTA FE, NM — Food for Love is pleased to welcome Thornburg Investment Management and Thornburg Foundation as lead sponsors of our concert to raise money for New Mexico food banks. Each organization’s $25,000 contribution results in a combined pledge to match donations up to a total of $50,000.
“We are thrilled that Thornburg Investment Management and Thornburg Foundation have stepped up in such a big way to help New Mexicans struggling to put food on their tables,” said Stephen Feinberg, a Food for Love organizer. “If other donors help us meet Thornburg’s generous match, that will mean a total of $100,000. That’s enough to provide 400,000 nutritious meals to families all across our state.”
“COVID’s ongoing impact has meant that child hunger has dramatically increased, and now one out of every three children in the state goes to bed hungry” said Erin Cave, director of corporate social responsibility at Thornburg Investment Management. “We are inspired that so many phenomenal musicians and artists are supporting needy New Mexican families, and hope this concert encourages others around the state and country to take action.”
“Since day one of the COVID-19 pandemic, dedicated groups like the NM Food Bank Association, Roadrunner Food Bank and Food Depot have worked around the clock to feed families in crises and continue to do so,” said Allan Oliver, executive director at Thornburg Foundation. “We provided emergency relief funding then and are proud to do so now, and we urge others to give what they can.”
