Provide as high a level of current income as is consistent, in the view of the Fund's investment advisor, with safety of capital. A secondary objective is to reduce changes in its share price compared to longer term portfolios.
There is no guarantee that the Fund will meet its investment objectives.
The Fund is a laddered portfolio of short/intermediate obligations issued by the U.S. Government, its agencies or instrumentalities, with an average maturity of less than five years. Investments with shorter average maturities, such as the Thornburg Limited Term U.S. Government Fund, are less exposed to interest rate risk than investments with longer average maturities.
The Fund invests 80% of its assets in obligations issued or guaranteed by the United States Government, its agencies, instrumentalities or authorities, although the share price of the fund itself is not guaranteed by the U.S. Government.
