William Mac “Carter” Sims is head of global distribution for Thornburg Investment Management. He is responsible for leading the sales and distribution efforts across the company’s institutional, intermediary, and international lines of business.
Prior to joining Thornburg, Carter was the head of U.S. intermediary distribution at Schroder Investment Management, North America, where he lead the business strategy for all functional teams including sales, key accounts, and marketing. Additionally, Carter oversaw all marketing and communications across the intermediary, institutional, and consultant relations channels.
Over Carter’s extensive career, he has also held senior leadership positions at several firms including, Columbia Asset Management, Bank of America, Gartmore Global Partners, Fidelity Investments, and PNC Bank.
Carter received a BS in finance from Boston College and is registered with FINRA with Series 24, 26, 7, 6, 63 licenses. He also completed the Securities Industry Institute Leadership program at Penn’s Wharton School. Additional training includes SPIN Selling, Conceptual Selling, and IMPACT Performance Leadership and Negotiation.
Carter currently serves as a member of the Malvern Prep Endowment Board and fundraises for GESU School.

Frances D'Alessio is a managing director of Thornburg Investment Management; she oversees the institutional client service and sales efforts for the Northeast United States. Frances is also a regional director with Thornburg’s institutional group, covering the Northeast United States.
Prior to joining Thornburg, she was employed by Lord Abbett as a client portfolio manager for its large-cap value and multi-cap value institutional client service group. Before that, she was a senior portfolio specialist for Lord Abbett’s large-cap SMA strategy, having joined the company in 1997 as a client relations manager. As a client portfolio manager, she was responsible for managing and servicing 40 institutional clients with over $1 billion in total assets. Prior to joining Lord Abbett, Frances was employed by Merrill Lynch as a district account associate.
Frances earned an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, with honors; an MA in international affairs from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey; and a BA in political science from William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. Along with membership in 100 Women in Finance, Frances serves as a member of the SITE Santa Fe Foundation Council (SITE is a contemporary art museum featuring innovative works by renowned artists). Frances is currently registered with FINRA with a Series 7, 6, 24, 63, and 65.

Eric Edmond is a regional director for the institutional group at Thornburg Investment Management. Eric is responsible for business development and servicing Thornburg’s institutional client base in the Central United States. He joined Thornburg in 2009 as a member of the marketing communications group, where he held associate and supervisory positions. He joined the institutional group’s client service/business development team in 2012.
Prior to joining Thornburg, Eric held several positions at T. Rowe Price, delivering financial planning and investment guidance to individual investors. Eric is also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He holds a BS in finance from the University of Phoenix and is currently registered with FINRA with a Series 6, 7, 63, 66, and 24. Eric is also a CFA charterholder and a board member of the CFA Society of New Mexico, where he serves as treasurer.

Tonja Truesdell is regional director for Thornburg Investment Management. Her primary responsibilities include servicing Thornburg's institutional client base and business development in the Southeast United States. Tonja joined Thornburg Investment Management in 2013.
Prior to joining Thornburg, Tonja worked for Payden & Rygel Investment Management based in Los Angeles, CA. At Payden and Rygel, she held positions as a currency trader and portfolio platforms analyst. Tonja received a BBS in business administration with a concentration in global business from the University of Evansville. She also received a MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of New Mexico.

Eastern U.S.Karina KopanieckaRegional Associate
Karina Kopaniecka is a regional associate for Thornburg Investment Management. Her primary responsibilities include marketing, client servicing, and business development.
Prior to joining Thornburg, Karina was a portfolio associate and senior registered client service associate with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, providing investment support to both financial advisors and individual clients. Karina graduated cum laude with a BA in English from Hunter College at the City University of New York. She is registered with FINRA with a Series 7 and 66.
